Las Vegas takes quite a bad rap from it’s history of not being such a family friendly place. But as time moves on, it’s becoming more and more family orientated and accommodating.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s not quite there yet, and should you walk down the strip, there are still the “Quick! Cover their eyes!” sort of moments.

Thats being said, if you know what you’re doing and where you are going, Las Vegas can be a fun and entertaining place for children and adults alike.

8. The Food

I know it sounds generic, but the selection and quality available in Las Vegas is astounding. From fantastic fine dining, to amazing buffets.

Do your research though, as with everything in Vegas, some are simply terrible tourist traps, but check the reviews online, and you’ll find plenty of amazing restaurant to suit every appetite.

7. The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian

So shopping may not be everyones favourite thing to do, but this is shopping with a side of Venice.

Take a ride on a Gondola through this fantastic Mall, and enjoy a bite to eat in one of the many coffee chops or restaurants.

6. Hoover Dam

Visit the Hoover Dam with the whole family and discover this iconic American landmark together.
The sight of Hoover Dam is fantastic.

Just 40 minutes outside of the Strip is the famous Hoover Dam. Excellent day trip if you’re in the area. It’s vast and impressive, and even if you don’t want to spend too long here, even a short visit seems worthwhile.

You can embark on a self-guided tour, or join one of the official guided tours.


  • There is a $10 parking charge. However, free parking is available in the Upper Lots.

4. Fountains of Bellagio

When you visit Las Vegas with Kids, they will absolutely love the displays of many of the hotels.

We stayed at the Bellagio on our trip to Las Vegas, and being able to watch the Fountains from above and below gave a special perspective to them.

These fountains are an attraction for anyone of any age, and definitely one of the most popular things you will be asked about when you return home.


  • Amazing both day and night, so take your pick, or do both.
  • Make a quick stop inside the Bellagio to see The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden.

3. Discovery Children’s Museum

Lots of activities and fun for the whole family, and entertainment for children of all ages.

THERE ARE SO MANY!!! And while many Las Vegas shows cater to a more adult audience, there are lots of high quality, family friendly shows available.

Watch a World Famous magician David Copperfield in action.

Enjoy dinner and a show, as you experience magic, jousting heroes and sword fighting knights, all whilst you enjoy dinner at the Tournament Of Kings.

Alternatively, Cirque Du Soleil also have some family friendly shows on offer.
